The material from which the feeder elbows are made is cast iron - a casting alloy of iron with carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and other components, containing from 2.11 to 4.3% of carbon in the form of cementite or graphite. Depending on the rate of cooling and the chemical composition of the alloy, cast iron may precipitate in the form of graphite or cementite, and alloy additions are also important here. According to the applicable standard, cast iron is a material whose main component is iron, and the carbon content exceeds 2%. Cast iron is characterized by low cost of production, high machinability and low melting point, which makes it one of the most commonly used casting materials in mechanical engineering.
The feeder operates on the basis of the Automatic Fuel Feeding Unit, which consists of a fuel tank, a fan and a microprocessor controller. The entire system creates a warehouse and automatic fuel feeding to the burner, which leads to the most economical combustion process in a continuous system. Fuel is transported from the tank to the retort burner by means of a screw feeder, which spreads the fuel evenly in the crucible on the grate, creating a pile of fuel divided into combustion zones. The blow fan supplies the air needed for the combustion process, and the number of revolutions of the screw can be changed by the microprocessor controller depending on changes in the boiler's thermal efficiency.
